Blend means the main botanical has been synergistically combined with other herbs to enhance its clinical application.

Core Borage Blend is a synergistic combination of medicinal herbs that have been commonly used to nourish the body, thus increasing vitality, enhancing calcium absorption and assisting with inflammation. The main ingredient in this blend is Borage (Borago officinalis), which has been used extensively by herbalists for its anti-inflammatory action and to help increase vitality after illness by supporting adrenal function. Flax Seed (Linum usitatissimum) has been included for its mucilage properties which soothe inflammation and for its nutritional content yielding protein, phytosterols, vitamins, minerals, fiber and lignans. Additionally, Red Clover (Trifolium pratense), Beet Root (Beta vulgaris), Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis) and Elecampane (Inula helenium) have been included for their traditional use to provide phytochemicals and abundant minerals to assist with mineral absorption and inflammation to speed the healing process. Marshmallow, in particular, is a rich herbal source of calcium and magnesium. Elecampane contains inulin, a phytochemical which has demonstrated improvement of mineral absorption. Also included are Lapacho/Pau d’Arco (Tabebuia impetiginosa), widely used for inflamed joints and rheumatic conditions; and Borage Oil which contains GLA (Gamma Linolenic Acid) that not only has shown to assist with calcium absorption and balance, but is a precursor in the synthesis of prostaglandins which have shown anti-inflammatory properties.
