Core Red Clover Blend is named after its primary ingredient Trifolium Pratense, commonly known as Red Clover. The flowering tops of Red Clover have been favored among herbalists for their alterative properties, which are considered to purify the blood. The use of alteratives supports the nutritive and excretive processes of the body by reducing accumulation of metabolic waste products, thus helping to restore normal body functions. Other synergistic ingredients include Leopard’s Bane (Arnica montana), which has been used to increase circulation when taken internally; and Yellow Dock (Rumex crispus), which is used to decongest primary organs of elimination and to assist with nutrient uptake. Marigold (Calendula officinalis) and Coneflower (Echinacea angustifolia) are known for their antimicrobial properties and for their ability to enhance immune function. Lastly, Figwort (Scrophularia nodosa) and Poke Root (Phytolacca decandra) are considered alteratives which support skin conditions by decongesting the kidney, the liver and the lymphatic system.
