Lyme Disease

Lyme Disease is the most common tick-born illness in the U.S. The bacteria responsible for Lyme disease, Borrelia Burgdorferi, can assume three forms: spirochete, cell-wall-deficient, and cyst. This transformation occurs for the purpose of bacterial survival and proliferation in the human body. Co-infections such as Candidiasis, Babesia, Bartonella and others, may also be present. Lyme Disease is most often transmitted by deer ticks, but there is alarming evidence that it can also be acquired from mosquitoes, flea bites, blood transfusions, rodents, and unpasteurized cow milk. Some researchers even believe it can be transmitted from person to person through body fluids, blood, or sexual contact.

There are three stages in Lyme Disease. Stage One symptoms consist of bulls-eye rash (only 25% are said to develop this rash at the site of the tick bite) and flu-like symptoms. Stage Two symptoms consist of muscle aches, fatigue and joint pain. Stage Three symptoms consist of severe neurological imbalances, profound fatigue, memory loss, rashes, mood swings, weight changes (loss or gain), light sensitivity, GI distress, and continual infections. It is estimated that 80% or more of Chronic Fatigue patients have advanced Stage Three Lyme Disease.
